Grand Harbor Seafood and Dimsum Restaurant is a spacious Cantonese restaurant located right on Old Bayshore Highway in Burlingame, offering a mix of traditional dim sum alongside a broader seafood and stir-fry menu. Its proximity to the bay means diners often enjoy a view of the ocean, along with glimpses of planes taking off and landing at nearby San Francisco International Airport. This setting adds a quiet buzz to the dining experience—a blend of waterfront calm and airport energy.

The restaurant leans into a full-service, order-by-brochure approach typical of many Cantonese dim sum places, rather than the classic rolling carts. This makes it better suited for groups or families who want to order a variety of dishes at their own pace without the rush of the carts moving table to table. Indeed, the large dining room and availability of round banquet tables mean it often attracts bigger parties, celebrations, or casual Sunday dim sum gatherings.

On the dim sum front, the menu features classics like shrimp har gow, siu mai (though some find the fillings a bit lightly seasoned), chicken feet in mixed sauces, and sticky glutinous rice dumplings. There are also notable mains like the crispy skin roasted duck and preserved vegetables braised fish that bring a heartier dimension to the meal. Traditional side dishes like Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and more indulgent choices such as Portuguese egg custard and crispy BBQ pork buns round out an extensive, if somewhat restrained, flavor profile.

Visitors should come with a readiness to explore a variety of dishes rather than expecting standout hits on every plate; the overall seasoning tends to be milder, which suits those who prefer Cantonese cuisine without heavy sauces or assertive spices. The portions, however, are generous, and ordering family-style is ideal for sampling multiple items.

Service can veer between efficient and a bit understated, reflecting the restaurant’s focus on a steady flow of diners rather than personalized attention. Parking can be a challenge during weekend brunch hours when the spot fills quickly, so arriving early or on a weekday will provide a quieter atmosphere.

In short, Grand Harbor is a practical choice for local families and larger groups who want a reliable dim sum and seafood outing paired with expansive space and waterfront views, rather than a destination for culinary innovation or intimate dining. Its blend of classic Cantonese comfort food alongside a bustling, open setting by the bay marks it as a familiar, if straightforward, player in Burlingame’s dining scene.

At 11am on a Sunday, the parking lot was full. The wait was about 5 minutes for a table of 10. It is the type of dim sum restaurant without carts and you order by marking up a brochure. We ordered way too much food. The bill ended up being $380 before tip. Most of the food tasted OK, These were not OK, egg rolls, stuffed mushrooms and turnip cakes. Service was lackluster. We had a party of 10 and they only set it up for eight people. We asked for two more place sets and they only gave us plates. No chairs, chops sticks or napkins. We had to ask multiple times. They don't have mustard, soy sauce or hot sauce at the table. Again, we had to ask multiple times as they will only give you one set for 10 people.

Five star on the atmosphere as this restaurant boasts of a beautiful view of the ocean while you are dining. You can even see the plane taking off or landing because of its proximity to the airport. This restaurant is big and is a good place for a big group or special celebrations. The dishes that we had were good but there's really nothing special. We had the combination seafood chow mien, garlic pea tips, salt and pepper pork, Mongolian beef and peking duck. They were pretty authentic. The service was great as we were given a pot of tea and a little bowl of peanuts as soon as we seated.

FOOD 3 We ordered a mix of classic dim sum dishes and found most everything to be lightly seasoned and lacking depth. Siu mai skins were falling apart, and the pork filling, which contained shrimps, tobiko on top and coarsely ground pork, could have used some sweetness - 2. Har gow skin was translucent and filled with perfectly steamed shrimps with a hint of ginger - 4. Wu gok Taro turnovers were OK, but lacking punch - 3. Gee cheung fun skin was silky soft, chopped char siu filling tasted a bit dry perhaps from the day before. Sauce was light and sweet - 3.5 Chicken feet were my favorite of the day with succulent flavor and easy to eat - 4. Chow mein noodles were OK, with most of the noodles clumped together and drenched in the gravy, and just a few strands on the outer edges crispy - 3. The sauce was light, again lacking overall depth, but at least the sauce wasn’t oversalted. Shrimps, scallops and fish were cooked through just enough, so that they weren’t raw. Dessert of Portuguese-style egg tarts were very delicious, flaky, and sweet - 5! SERVICE 4 Our main server was very attentive, intuitive and responsive filling our teapot with hot water and clearing away empty steamer baskets etc. Since we sat on the mid-tier floor away from the window, the server has to pull our orders from the carts on the main floor and bring them to our table. ATMOSPHERE 4 Main floor seating is desired if you can get it. As other reviewers have mentioned, the ocean view and watching planes take off and land can be mesmerizing. OVERALL 4 We visited on a Sunday at 10:45am and quickly got a 4-top for 3 just before all the crowds arrived. While I wasn’t impressed with the food (I found it quite pedestrian and ordinary, but the prices are reasonable for the quality), we did spend a pleasant 2 hours catching up with family, and at no time did we feel hurried or rushed. $80 before tip for 3 light eaters. I would return with non-fussy eaters.

The food is very good, as is the service. They provide good chamomile tea free of charge. The place is decently big and often crowded. It’s definitely more suited for bigger groups, and they have the traditional rotating glass tables.

Had both my last meal of 2025 and first meal of 2026 here. Great stir-fry options for dinner and great dim sum. Good ocean view.

Good go to dimsum spot! Also by the bay so some nice views if you’re sitting by the window. Dishes are also pretty good! Quick service and a lot of staff walking around. I think the only downside for me personally is that the parking can be challenging during busy hours and spots are a little bit on the narrower side but there is a lot! This doesn’t stop me from coming though because eventually someone leaves
